Nice start, Evan. Here's a slight revision: "Statistics show that comprehensive sex education is more effective than abstinence only programs because of x, y and z. Not only do such programs help students to make informed decisions, but they also are more effective at discouraging teen pregnancy as well as the contraction of STDs."
